Clear Acrylic Tube Floor Lamp “King” by Edy ten Berge, Netherlands, 1980s.
This floor lamp, the “King”, was designed in 1984 by Dutch designer Edy ten Berge and stands as a example of late-20th-century minimalist lighting design. The lamp features a hand-bent, transparent acrylic (perspex) tube that rises vertically and then arches over to direct illumination downward from its tip. The slender tube appears to float, anchored by a weighted base, allowing the light source to become an elegant architectural gesture in space.
The “King” lamp was awarded the Benelux industrial design prize soon after its introduction, marking its recognition within designer circles.
Good vintage condition, with minor traces of wear consistent with age and use.
