Elegant sculptural table lamp designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, Murano, during the 1970s. The lamp features a distinctive hand-blown smoked glass shade resting on a chrome-plated metal base, typical of Nason’s exploration of organic forms and light diffusion. The softly folded glass form creates a fluid silhouette that captures and reflects the light in subtle tones of grey and silver.
Carlo Nason (b. 1935) is one of Murano’s most innovative glass designers, known for combining traditional Venetian craftsmanship with a modern sculptural sensibility. Working with A.V. Mazzega, he developed a number of technically complex lighting designs that have become emblematic of Italian mid-century and space-age glassmaking.
