Neoclassical Brass Wall Lights Mounted On Wood, Circa 1930.
Price is for the set.
Pair of functional and decorative wall sconces featuring a Neoclassical revival profile. An example of early 20th-century electric lighting, where the aesthetic of a candleholder was adapted to accommodate the new light bulb.
These wall lights have a cast brass body shaped like a traditional candle, mounted on a curved dark wood backplate. A crown gallery sits atop the brass column. The simple, direct mounting makes them versatile for placement in a variety of settings.
Provides a warm, upward-focused light best suited for hallways, staircases, or flanking a piece of art or mirror. The aesthetic works particularly well in spaces that utilize traditional detailing, dark wood, or period architecture.
Good vintage condition. Light signs of age and use consistent with time, including an aged patina on the brass. The pieces are sold as a functional pair.
