AfterMidnight is an Antwerp-based gallery and specialist in original twentieth-century lighting. We source expressive, well-made lamps with a strong design identity—from recognised icons to lesser-known pieces that deserve to be rediscovered. Every object is selected individually, researched carefully and prepared for its next interior in our in-house atelier.

Our collection brings together European, Scandinavian, Italian, Japanese and international lighting from the mid-century, Space Age and postmodern periods. We work with private collectors, interior architects, designers, galleries, hospitality projects and people looking for one exceptional lamp for their home.

Every lighting piece offered by AfterMidnight passes through our atelier in Antwerp. Our lighting technicians inspect each lamp, clean it carefully and rewire it when needed using CE-marked electrical components.

Our approach is respectful rather than cosmetic. We aim to preserve the original design, finish and components wherever their condition allows. When intervention is necessary, we work to retain the intended proportions, material character and lighting effect. From a collector’s perspective, this restraint matters: over-restoration, aggressive polishing or unnecessary replacement can remove part of an object’s history and value.

The precise work performed depends on the individual lamp. Product descriptions and condition reports explain significant wear, replacements or restoration, and additional photographs are available on request.
