Elegant sculptural table lamp designed by Carlo Nason for Mazzega, Murano, during the 1970s. The lamp features a distinctive hand-blown smoked glass shade resting on a chrome-plated metal base, typical of Nason’s exploration of organic forms and light diffusion. The softly folded glass form creates a fluid silhouette that captures and reflects the light in subtle tones of grey and silver.
Carlo Nason (b. 1935) is one of Murano’s most innovative glass designers, known for combining traditional Venetian craftsmanship with a modern sculptural sensibility. Working with A.V. Mazzega, he developed a number of technically complex lighting designs that have become emblematic of Italian mid-century and space-age glassmaking.
Perfect for collectors and interiors that value distinctive 1970s Italian design. This lamp works beautifully as an atmospheric light on a sideboard, console, or bedside table, complementing both vintage and minimalist settings.
The glass shade shows a crack and a loss around the top opening, partially covered and stabilized by the chrome finial. The defect is not structurally compromising and minimally visible when assembled. Chrome surfaces show light wear consistent with age.
