The iconic pendant lamp designed by Paul Secon in the 1960s, famed for its innovative use of materials.
The lamp is constructed from several interlocking segments of smoked acrylic, between which hundreds of fine nylon strings are precisely stretched. This string tension creates hyperbolic and double-cone shapes, leading to light refractions and a kinetic moiré effect when viewed from different angles.
Provides directional downlighting and a unique, ethereal ambient glow through the string work.
Good vintage condition. The acrylic frame and nylon strings are well-preserved. Minor signs of wear on the chrome hardware consistent with age.
