Large-scale pendant lamp by Vistosi. The form of the hand-blown Murano glass shade, is defined by a drum-like body that tapers into a stepped neck with a flared rim. The glass is worked in a subtle yellow-green hue with an opaline quality that ensures a diffused, even distribution of light, while a circular aperture at the base provides direct downlight. Suspended by three white textile cords from a brushed metal ceiling canopy.
Vistosi, founded on the island of Murano, reached its creative peak in the mid-20th century by integrating traditional Venetian glassblowing with the clean, bold silhouettes of the Italian Space Age.
Suited to suspension over a large dining table or as a central fixture in a living room with high ceilings. Good vintage condition, consistent with age and use; the glass is in pristine condition: intact without chips or cracks, while the textile cords show light age-related wear.
