Mid-Century Modern glass sconce produced in Europe during the 1940s. The fixture features a multi-tiered, shell-shaped shade composed of heavy hand-blown glass with a yellow marbled and mottled opaline texture. This structural form diffuses light outwards through its dappled surface while channeling an open wash of illumination upward against the wall surface. Mounted on a minimalist brass wall fixture, the organic patterning and amber tint offer a warm graphic pop characteristic of late twentieth-century decorative glass.
Very Good vintage condition. The thick glass shell is pristine, showing minimal surface dust and no chips, fractures, or structural cracks.
