Pendant light in the industrial Art Deco tradition, featuring a glass shade composed of three independent elements. The fixture includes a large frosted glass disc, a central domed diffuser with concentric horizontal ribbing, and a lower glass ring secured by three adjustable screws. This tiered construction was designed to maximize light diffusion while reducing glare, a hallmark of early 20th-century technical lighting. The shade is suspended from an aluminium stem with a matching ceiling canopy.
The design is characteristic of the high-quality industrial fixtures produced in Europe during the 1930s and 1940s, often used in public buildings, workshops, or offices. These pieces successfully bridged the gap between functionalist machine-age requirements and the streamlined aesthetic of the Art Deco movement.
Suited to suspension in a kitchen or a workspace with high ceilings. Good vintage condition, consistent with age; the aluminium stem and canopy show a natural aged patina, and all three glass components remain intact.
