Lighting fixture designed for mounting on either a wall or ceiling. The piece is a spherical shade in brushed aluminum with a cut-out aperture, creating a direct spotlight effect. The eyeball shade is connected via an adjustable swivel joint to a circular black metal canopy base, allowing it to rotate and tilt to direct light where required.
Hoffmeister Leuchten, founded in 1910 in Lüdenscheid, became a major West German manufacturer of architectural and technical lighting during the post-war period. This model is a characteristic example of the company's Space Age architectural production from the 1970s.
Suited to use as directional reading lights flanking a bed, or installed in pairs on a hallway ceiling. Good vintage condition. The aluminum shades are free from dents and show only minor surface scuffs consistent with age, while the swivel mechanisms retain strong tension.
