These sculptures are plaster forms originally created as commercial display busts for lingerie, specifically for bras. Manufactured by the French firm Hirondelle (marked 'Hirondelle' on the base), these sculptures feature a stylized, truncated female form designed to showcase corsetry or bras. Hirondelle was a well-known French mannequin and display manufacturer (active c. 1920s-1950s).
