Orange Space Age double-headed floor lamp by Cosack Leuchten, Germany, 1960s.
The design features two lacquered metal spheres mounted to a chromed steel stem and matching orange lacquered metal base. The spheres function as a rotatable and height-adjustable shades, secured with a clear plexiglass turning knob. The shades can be positioned along the vertical stem and rotated in multiple directions to control the light’s focus.
The chrome stem extends into a lacquered metal base that is slightly elevated from the floor, giving the lamp a weightless, refined stance. A chromed cable holder near the base ensures the cord runs vertically and discreetly. In this model, a plexiglass diffuser is integrated to soften the upward light.
Part of Cosack’s wider Space Age collection of floor, wall, table and ceiling lamps, this piece reflects the precision and playful modernism characteristic of German lighting from the period. The series was produced in multiple variants: single or double shade, with or without diffuser, in a range of vivid colors. Further models from this Cosack series are available upon request.
