Table lamp designed by Uno & Östen Kristiansson for the Swedish manufacturer Luxus. The piece has an opaline glass base with a frosted finish, molded into a five-tier bulbous profile that tapers towards the neck. It is paired with its original red fabric lampshade, and still has the original internal plastic diffuser to cast an even, glare-free light across the room.

Founded in Vittsjö in 1950, Luxus became renowned under the direction of the Kristiansson brothers for combining refined Scandinavian glass and woodwork with bold, vibrant fabric shades. Their mid-century designs are notable for their minimalist geometries and meticulously balanced proportions.

Suited to placement on a sideboard, large bedside table, or writing desk. Good vintage condition, consistent with age and use. The opaline glass base is clean and free of chips or cracks; the exterior fabric of the original shade is intact, while the internal plastic diffuser has two tears that are visible only from the inside and do not affect the exterior presentation.
