Hanns Hoffmann-Lederer for HL-Leuchten, Germany
Set of 2 Open Cone Wall Lamps, 1950s
Plexiglas (Acrylic)
H 28 cm x W 11 cm x D 11 cm
1950s wall lamps designed by Hanss Hoffmann-Lederer for HL-Leuchten. They are made from high quality white Plexiglass that has been bent into a cnoe-like shape. When switched on, the material glows with a soft, warm, and diffused light. It is a very clean, modern, and sculptural piece that projects a warm, ambient glow. The item's open-cone geometry allows for an expansive distribution of light that washes against the wall, creating an atmospheric, almost ethereal halo effect.
Hanns Hoffmann-Lederer was a German Bauhaus-trained artist, graphic designer, sculptor, engineer, and teacher. In the 1950s he designed a series of sculptural wall and table lamps from bent Plexiglas sheets, linking Bauhaus form theory with postwar modern material experimentation.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition.
