Table lamp from the "El-Oline" series, designed and produced in the late 1960s by the Danish manufacturer Fog & Mørup. The design reimagines the traditional 19th-century oil lamp in a sleek, mid-century modernist form. The body is formed from hand-blown glass components produced for Fog & Mørup by Holmegaard (Fyens Glasværk). A central brass-finished mechanical burner collar acts as the aesthetic pivot, complete with a perforated gallery and a stylized wick-turner knob. A tall, clear glass chimney rises through the upper shade to complete the silhouette.
Rather than a conversion, the El-Oline was engineered natively by Fog & Mørup as an electric novelty lamp, hiding a standard socket inside the brass collar assembly. The series was introduced in a select palette of deep tones.
Suited to placement on a console table, deep window sill, or a small writing desk. Good vintage condition, consistent with age and use. The hand-blown cased glass base and the white opaline upper shade are intact and free of chips or cracks; the brass burner elements show a light, even patina.
