Minimalist Chrome Swing-Arm Floor Lamp, 1970s.

This modern floor lamp is designed by George Hansen for the Spanish manufacturer Metalarte in the 1970s. 

The lamp is defined by its clean, geometric construction rendered entirely in polished chrome. The circular base anchors a slender vertical stem, which supports a horizontal arm, at its end an adjustable swing mechanism that allows the rectangular shade to be positioned for optimal direct lighting.

The shade itself is a minimalist rectangular block, highly reflective on the exterior and finished with a contrasting white interior to maximize light output. This lamp is perfect for use as a task light beside a reading chair or as a sophisticated architectural accent.
