President floor lamp designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog and Mørup. The fixture features a slender brushed aluminium stem punctuated by matte black joinery, supported by a tripod base in cast aluminium. This example retains its original large-scale drum shade in a textured beige fabric, which is secured by a brass-arm tripod gallery above the socket.

As head of design for Fog and Mørup from 1957 to 1980, Hammerborg was instrumental in defining the Danish modern lighting aesthetic, focusing on architectural silhouettes and the interaction of different metallic finishes. .

Suited to placement beside a lounge chair or sofa as a reading light. Good vintage condition. The aluminium components show light surface wear consistent with age; the original fabric shade remains intact with minor age-related darkening to the interior rim.
